Shortly
after we were married in 1964, Romeo was commissioned to paint the Stations
of the Cross for a new Italian church in Bedford. We were living in a small
bungalow with almost no furniture and little heating. These painting were
three foot by three foot. He painted in the kitchen, while I tripped over
his easel cooking our meals.
