Early Winter Morning

In 1964 shortly after taking up my appointment as head of department at Slough Grammar School for Boys and my marriage to Megan, we lived in Bourne End.

The softly silhouetted railway bridge, buildings and willow trees, reflected in the partly frozen water and illuminated by the delicate hazy sun proved to be too seductive not to paint.
